These pieces began with a simple recognition: what we photograph is shaped by how we see. Seeing is never neutral. We bring our whole selves to the frame, our memories, our attention, the shape we are already carrying. The photographer goes looking, and finds what was waiting there. A picture holds still. The seeing does not. It travels outward to whoever looks next, and they begin looking too.
